November 16, 1998 - ProtoNet introduces two FREE Web development tools, one for Cold Fusion®, and one for Active Server Pages. By combining ProtoFax and the <CF_FAX> tag v1.1 for Cold Fusion® or ASP_FAX Script v1.0 for Active Server Pages, Web developers can now immediately deliver faxes and alphanumeric pages from Cold Fusion® and Active Server Page applications, expanding their e-commerce reach to millions of fax machines and alphanumeric pagers. “Any information from a Web server can be at a person’s place of business or on a salesperson’s pager in the field in less than one minute. ProtoFax is a software server package that turns a standard PC with a modem into an affordable Internet fax and pager server.
