Example of printing dialog box

Objective:  Allow users to send Windows® documents to a ProtoFax server. If done across the Internet, you can eliminate long distance charges.

Discussion: The ProtoFax v3.1 printer driver extension includes a printer driver that you can distribute to your clients. This printer driver will allow your clients to send graphical faxes across the Internet (or an intranet). It accomplishes this by integrating into the existing Windows® printing system. A user can go to their favorite Windows® application, select the ProtoFax Printer, and send their word processor document,  spread sheet, financial reports...etc. thousands of miles across the Internet to an ProtoFax server.

The ProtoFax Printer Driver also supports fax broadcasting. You can define "fax groups" composed of different names and fax numbers and send the same fax to all the members of the group.

A single ProtoFax server can service an entire network, eliminating the need for installing individual fax modems and eliminating costly configuration time. Since ProtoFax uses a Windows® printer driver, any  Windows® document can be sent over the Internet to an ProtoFax server. At delivery, the recipient will receive a fax of the document that looks identical to the original. The sender will receive an email fax transmittal informing them that the fax has been delivered.

The printer driver is extremely easy to use and is treated by Windows® like any other printer. Once a client has an account on your ProtoFax server, he or she can simply choose to print to the ProtoFax printer driver. A dialog box pops up where they enter the fax number. The only thing left to do is click 'Send'.

Full access restrictions are built into ProtoFax to assure that only clients with the appropriate privileges can send faxes. For example ProtoFax can restrict clients to only fax to 7 digit numbers. Or maybe you may only want to allow another client to fax to any 7 digit number with the 591 prefix. Or maybe you want to let a certain client fax to any number that they want. ProtoFax will allow you to do all of this.
