The ProtoFax Printer Driver can be installed on client workstations on your network or on the Internet if your network has an Internet connection.  Client workstations can send documents from Windows® applications to the ProtoFax Server.  The ProtoFax Server will deliver the documents to the fax numbers that users enter into the ProtoFax Printer Driver. 

To use the ProtoFax Printer Driver, follow these steps: 

On the ProtoFax Server 

•  Open the ProtoFax Server Administration. 
•  Go to the Services tab.  Check Load on startup for SMTP/Printer Driver and Fax/Pager services 
•  Click Apply 
•  Launch the ProtoFax Server 

On the client workstation 

•  Install the ProtoFax Printer Driver 
•  Start WordPad 
•  Type some sample text 
•  Click File 
•  Click Print 
•  Select the ProtoFax printer 
•  Click OK 

The first time you print to the ProtoFax Printer Driver, you need to enter some setup information on the Setup tab: 
•  IP address of the ProtoFax Server 
•  Your email address 

•  Then click the Send Fax tab 
•  Enter a Fax Number 
•  Click Send 

The ProtoFax Printer Driver sends the current document to the ProtoFax Server.  The ProtoFax Server delivers it to the destination fax number(s).
